For teams that run their operations inside Notion — meeting notes, project documentation, wikis, roadmaps — the integration is genuinely useful. The AI has context about the document it is in, can see what is already written, and writes in the same place you are working.

Where Notion AI is most useful

Meeting notes are the clearest use case. After a meeting, you paste the raw notes and ask Notion AI to turn them into a clean summary with action items. This is faster than doing it manually and produces a consistent format across all your meeting notes.

Document drafting inside existing wikis is the second strong use case. If you have a Notion knowledge base and need to add documentation, Notion AI can draft it based on what is already in your workspace.

The case for Notion AI over those alternatives is the in-workspace integration: no context switching, AI directly in your notes. If that workflow efficiency is worth $50/month for your team, the price is justified. If it is not, the alternatives are more capable for the same or less money.

Who should skip Notion AI

If you do not use Notion, there is no case for Notion AI. It requires a Notion account and only works inside the Notion interface.

If you use Notion but primarily for project management rather than document writing, the AI features will not see much use. The task management side of Notion — databases, boards, calendars — does not benefit from the current AI capabilities.
